<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://twiggfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/152_115409.jpg" alt="Juanita M. Heiland" />Juanita M. Heiland, 80, daughter of Fred &amp; Gladys Pearl (Barnes) Hall, was born February 11, 1932 on a farm south of Guthrie Center.  She passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at her home. 
She graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1949.  On May 27, 1951, she married Jerry C. Heiland at the First Christian Church in Guthrie Center.  They made their home in Paducah, KY.  In 1954, they returned to the home place south of Panora.   She was a homemaker until Jerry’s death on February 11, 1977.  She then went to work at the Panora Food Center in the Deli Dept.  In 1985, she started working in the kitchen at Panorama Schools.  She retired from there in 2009.  
She loved watching all of her grandchildren’s sporting events, which were many.  She also enjoyed dancing, needle work, and embroidery.  
She was a member of the Panora First Christian Church, the Sunshine Club, the Glendale Club, and the Panora Nursing &amp; Rehab Auxiliary. 
Juanita is survived by her son, Dennis (Juanita) Heiland; daughters, Diane (Tom) Watts, Kristie (Ron) Reynolds, and Kim (Dave Andrews) Heiland, all of Panora.  Nine grandchildren, Ashley (Steve) Schable, Alicia (Landon) Roth, Jamie (Sarah) Watts, Kylee (Trevor) Boettcher, Chaille (Damon) Crandall, Jodi (Tony) Wiita, Cole (Emily Post) Reynolds, Mallory Heiland, and Jay C Watts.  Twelve great-grandchildren, Cade, Camryn, Chase Schable; Gannon, Abbie, Mason Roth; Tyme, Trey Boettcher; Cruz, Cacen Crandall; Abby, Josie Wiita.  Brother, Darwin (Shirley) Hall of Guthrie Center.  Sisters, June (Jim) Norris Anderson of Des Moines, and Pearl Gladys (LaVerne) Johnson of Panora.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and friends. <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://twiggfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/152_114912.jpg" alt="Dean L. Culver" />Dean L. Culver, 103, son of Hubert &amp; Edna (Hess) Culver, was born June 20, 1908 in Guthrie County, Iowa.  He passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Panora Nursing &amp; Rehab Center. 
He graduated from Guthrie County High School in 1925 and Iowa State University in 1931.  On December 31, 1934, he married Lola Mae Rich in Jamaica, Iowa.  To this union two daughters were born.  They made their home on a farm north of Panora.  Dean retired from farming in 1964.  He then worked for Farm Bureau Insurance for about a year.  They then moved into Panora and for the next 30 years, they wintered in Florida.  Lola passed away in 1997.  Dean continued to winter in Florida for the next four years.  For the last 10 years he has been a resident of the Panora Nursing &amp; Rehab.  
Dean enjoyed fishing and playing shuffle board. 
He was a member of the First Christian Church where is was an Elder and also taught Sunday School. 
Dean is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Logan) Van Sittert of Phoenix, AZ and Jean (K) Utterback of Winterset, Iowa.  Four grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lola, and sister Leone.

<title>James Bradley &quot;Brad&quot; Kemble [08/10/1937 - 02/08/2012] </title>

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://twiggfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/152_114816.jpg" alt="James Bradley &quot;Brad&quot; Kemble" />James Bradley “Brad” Kemble, 74, son of Charles William &amp; Leola Laura (Chayer) Kemble, was born August 10, 1937 in Panora, Iowa.  He passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at his home in Panora. 
He was raised in Panora and attended Panora schools.  He enlisted into the United States Navy in November of 1954.  He received his honorable discharge in April of 1958.  On June 17, 1959, he married Camille Wardlow in Redfield, Iowa.  They made their home in Panora.  To this union one son, Tim, was born.  He worked at the Pork Plant in Perry for a short while and then the City of Panora for a short time.  In the mid-1960&#039;s, he went to work for Armstrong Tire in Des Moines, which later became Pirelli Tire and then Titan Tire.  After he retired from Titan Tire, he started working at Sunnyfresh Foods in Panora.  He retired from there 6 years ago.
Brad enjoyed riding his motorcycle, the band Lynryd Skynrd, the Dallas Cowboys, and most of all, he was proud of living on the same street all of his life.  
He was a member of the First Christian Church and was a former member of the Panora Fire Department. 
Brad is survived by his wife, Camille of Panora and son, Tim Kemble of Kansas City, MO.  Also surviving are his sister, Sandy (Lynn) Jorgensen of Panora; brothers, Terry (Peggy) Kemble of Panora; and Denny (Judy) Kemble of Jefferson; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://twiggfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/152_114302.jpg" alt="Bernice Jane Adair" />Bernice Jane Adair, 91, daughter of Joseph &amp; Matilda (Kaiser) Vogel, was born September 4, 1920 on a farm north of Panora, Iowa in Cass Township.  She passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 at the Guthrie County Hospital, Guthrie Center, Iowa. 
She attended country school within a half mile of her home.  She graduated from Guthrie County High School in Panora, in 1938.  Following high school, she helped on the family farm.  On August 12, 1946, she married Estal Adair, (the boy next door), at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jamaica, Iowa.  They moved onto a farm about 3 miles away.  They lived, worked, and raised their family there for 57 years.  After Estal’s death in 2003, Bernice continued to live on the farm until 2006, moving in with her daughter Ilene and husband David in Panora.  She then became a resident at the Panora Nursing &amp; Rehab Center in July of 2011. 
Bernice was a life time member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church.  She read her way through almost every book in the Panora Library.  Every year she tended an acre garden to feed her family and was a great cook.  She enjoyed trying new recipes she would find in magazines and newspapers.  She also loved family get togethers and dinners. 
Bernice will be missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Nancy Jo (Joseph) Gliem of Jefferson; Linda (Ken) Pedersen of Jefferson; Keith Adair of Sioux Falls, SD; and Ilene (David) Olson of Panora.  Eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Covault, 93,  the daughter of Charles and Birtie Laughery, was born in Guthrie County, Iowa, on September 11, 1918.  She passed away on January 27, 2012 in Des Moines, Iowa.
	Velma graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1936.  On July 19, 1936, at the home of her parents, she was united in marriage to Glen Covault.  To this union three daughters were born.
	She worked at Guthrie Livestock Auction for over 40 years.  She was an Avon representative for 43 years and a regular member of the “Presidents Club.”  Velma enjoyed many activities such as playing cards, being part of the C.W.F. , gardening, cooking her “world famous” brownies, and everything that had to do with family. 
	Velma is preceded in death by her husband, mother and father,  seven brothers, and one sister.  
	She is survived by her three daughters, Ardis (Gilbert) Torr of Carmichael, CA, Sherry (Ted) Haney of Knoxville, IA, and Jeanie (Brian) Cotter of Pueblo, CO, seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Garreau, 87, daughter of Paul &amp; Catherine (Kimmen) Veasman, was born June 11, 1924 in Earling, Iowa.  She passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Guthrie County Hospital, Guthrie Center, Iowa.  
Loretta spent her school days in and around Churdan, Iowa.  When she was 11, her mother died, leaving her the oldest and in charge of her 4 sisters and baby brother.  She graduated from Churdan High School in 1942.  On August 24, 1943, she married Leon Garreau in Churdan.  In 1949, they moved the family from a farm near Casey to Guthrie Center.  Loretta worked at the Randolph Egg Plant in the mid 50&#039;s, then worked as a janitor at the Guthrie County High School in the early 60&#039;s and then was a cook at the New Homestead in the 70&#039;s.  Most of Loretta’s life was taking care of others.          She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, traveling, and keeping track of numerous relatives.
Loretta was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors, the Guthrie Center Activity Center, and Garden Club.
She is survived by her children, Lyle (Pat) Garreau of Linn, MO; Lois Garwood of DeSoto, IA; LLoyd (Jody) Garreau of St. Charles, MO; Leo (Jackie) Garreau of Ames, IA; and Lynn (Diane) Garreau of Grand Rapids, MI.  Nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.  Sisters, Rita Kimm and Viola Heins.  Brother, Paul Veasman. Half-sisters, Mildred, Clara, Maxine, Virginia, Donna, and Patricia.  Half-brothers, Mike, John, and Larry. <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://twiggfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/152_113714.jpg" alt="Dennis Leo Crawley" />    Dennis Crawley, 59 of Guthrie Center, Iowa passed away on January 23, 2011 in Des Moines, Iowa.  He was born on September 19, 1952 to loving parents, Clarence “Pete” and Hilda (Kirkpatrick) Crawley. Dennis graduated form Guthrie Center High School in 1970 and three years later on August 18th he married the love of his life Denice Lehman. He worked at Gilland Implement in Bagley, IA for 15 years and 11 years with the Department of Transportation until his retirement in 2001. He thrived on farming and everything that had to do with farming.  He loved his cows, raised hogs and cattle, and really enjoyed sitting back watching John Wayne, Roy Rogers, and all western movies, and of course 
listening to Gene Autry. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Mother and Father in Law (Dayton and Dorothy Lehman), brother Richard, and daughter Darla at infancy. 
He is survived by his wife Denice Crawley of Guthrie Center, son Darrin and Daughter in Law Tanna of Guthrie Center, grandson Dayton, brother Tom (Aleta) Crawley of Guthrie Center, and Sister in Law Connie from Melvern, IA.

Andresen" />        Audrey Andresen, 85, went to her heavenly home on January 14, 2012.   She will be missed by many loved ones and friends alike.  Audrey was born in Exira, Iowa on July 22, 1926 to Frederick and Egidia Sorensen.
	On December 1, 1946 she married Virgil Edwin Andresen.  Audrey was a busy wife and mother.  She also had various jobs outside of the home when loving in the Guthrie Center area.
	Audrey enjoyed reading, puzzles, cooking, baking, picnics and car rides with family and was always ready for a game of cards.  Many days and evenings were spent around the table with friends and family playing a game of “pitch” or another card game of choice.
	Audrey is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Virgil, daughter Jean ( Dennis) Foglesong, sons; Jon (Ronda) Andresen, Mike (Kim) Andresen, Virgil Jr (Diane) Andresen, 11 Grandchildren, and 10 Great Grandchildren.
	She is preceded in death by 3 sons, Dick at infancy, Marion (Bill) and Jim/ Her parents, Mother and father in law, 3 brothers, Floyd, Wayne and Marion, 2 sisters, Edna Petersen and Iona McCoy.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://twiggfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/152_112240.jpg" alt="Marvin Shackelford" />Marvin “Shack” Shackelford, 75, of Guthrie Center passed away on January 10, 2012 after a battle with cancer at the Guthrie County Hospital. Marvin attended school in Guthrie Center and after graduating high school he went to work on Road Construction. In July of 1965 he started work as a heavy equipment operator for Iowa Conservation commission. After 17 years with the Iowa Conservation Commission he and his wife bought and operated Shack’s Lounge in Bayard, which they ran for many years. After selling their business they retired to Arizona before returning to Iowa to be closer to their family. During his retirement Marvin enjoyed cooking, watching NASCAR, and sports on T.V. He also made and packaged his own special seasoning. He loved to make chili for his grandchildren. 
Shack was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Mildred Shackelford. He leaves his beloved wife Mary, sons Jim of Redfield, Kurt (Gayle) Shackelford of Panora, daughters Darcey Andersen of Grimes, and Cindy Bielenberg of Bayard, brothers Harry of Jefferson, Denny of Bedford, and sister Marie of Eagle Grove. <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://twiggfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/152_112227.jpg" alt="Diane Rita Zapf" />Diane Rita Zapf, 75, of Panora, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012, at her home.  Diane was born August 20, 1936, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Lee and Eleanor (Winter) Baker also of St. Cloud, Minnesota. 
Diane graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral High School and was a graduate of St. Gabriel’s school of nursing in Little Falls, Minnesota.  She married Richard Zapf on December 28, 1957, in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  Diane was a registered nurse at St. Cloud Hospital, Golden Valley Hospital and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  After several moves, the family settled in Des Moines, Iowa where she practiced nursing at Veterans Administration Hospital.  In 1988, Dick and Diane moved one last time to Lake Panorama, Panora, Iowa.  Aside from being proud of her children, she especially enjoyed quilting, gardening, golfing, and was an accomplished artist of many medias.  

Diane is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Richard Zapf of Panora; one son, Mark R. (Lynette) Zapf, of Loch Lloyd, MO; three daughters, Chrisanne B. (Robert) Dowd, of Des Moines; Kathryn M. (Stephen) Moline, of Panora; Kelly Jo (Sean) Mullane, of West Des Moines; eight grandchildren, a sister Renee (Jim) Goerger, of Richmond, MN; and brother Randy (Sue) Baker of Clear Lake, MN.
