Obituary for Kenneth Dale Lehman

Kenneth Dale Lehman, 78, son of Dale & Kathryn (Tibben) Lehman, was born March 5, 1941 in Audubon, Iowa. He attended country school, then graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1959. When he was a junior and senior, he drove the school bus for the other school children. It was there on the school bus that he met the love of his life, Janice Christensen. The two were sweethearts and were married a few years later on June 4, 1961 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Audubon. To this union two children were born, Sherry and Paul, who then blessed them with four grandchildren; Curtis, Shannon, Katie, and Kristopher.
Following his graduation from high school, Kenny started farming. He also started a corn shelling business and did custom combining. Kenny worked alongside his father in a tractor repair shop. In later years, he also worked alongside his son, Paul and grandson, Kris at Lehman Service. He spent the last few years of farming driving the grain cart and giving his expert advice to Paul and Kris. He was a trustee for the Bear Grove Township. He was a loyal member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Kenny loved spending time with his family. He was very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed camping, tractor rides with his H Farmall, fishing in Minnesota with friends, nightly cruises around the neighborhood, and going to his grandkid’s activities. Kenny always was willing to lend a helping hand to anymore in need, and was an extremely hard worker. Everyone has their own Kenny story...
Kenny is survived by his wife, Janice Lehman; daughter, Sherry (Daryl) Gettler; son, Paul (Brenda) Lehman; four grandchildren, Curtis (Katie) Gettler, Shannon (Jeff) Lee, Katie (Tom) Naert; and Kris (Caelin) Lehman; four great-grandchildren, Shyanne, Savannah, Bret, and Carsen; and two great-grandbabies on the way, Baby Girl Naert (arriving August) and Baby Boy Lehman (arriving May). Sisters, Betty Coffman of Arizona and Linda (David) Webber of Guthrie Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mae Kronberg and Marie Griffen, and nephews Jeff and Trent Kronberg.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Guthrie Center. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Guthrie Center. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 6-8 P.M. at the Twigg Funeral Home, Panora.
