Obituary for Semone Renee Magill

Sèmone Reneè (DeVore) Magill, of Casey, Iowa, a great mother and friend to all, passed away on May 29, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 53.

She was born on December 13, 1965, to James and Janice (Horn) DeVore at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Sèmone graduated from Putnam City High School in 1984 and received Emergency Medical Technician certification at Mercy College of Health and Sciences in 2010.

Sèmone was married to Jeffery Magill on November 25, 1989, in Adair, Iowa. She was the loving mother of Adam James Magill and Mollie Janè (Magill) Comly and Seth James Comly. She was blessed to be the grandmother of Xavier James Dale Comly and Hazel Kay Reneè Comly. Those who have passed before her, mother; Janice DeVore, Grandpa and Grandma DeVore, Grandpa and Grandma Draman, Uncle Bob Horn, parents-in-law; Virgil and Gloria Magill, and brother-in-law; Virgil Magil Jr will welcome Sèmone with love and comfort. Among those left to remember Sèmone are, her father; James DeVore, sister; Yvette DeVore and Brian Johnson and children Tucker (Brenda) and children and Taylor, brother; J.C. Devore and children Devin, Danielle, and Christian, husband; Jeff Magill, son; Adam Magill, daughter; Mollie Comly and Seth Comly and children Xavier and Hazel, and many other friends and family.

Sèmone’s life was filled with adventure and service. She enjoyed traveling and gaining new experiences. She gladly served as a volunteer for many organizations. Some of her favorite positions included Adair Fire and Rescue, the Better Keep Our Day Jobs performances, and her time at the Adair-Casey School.

Remembered well by all who had ever seen her, Sèmone was a friendly smile, always ready to help someone in need, without judgment. She cared passionately about others and commonly said that she loved to laugh and make other people laugh as well.Above all things, Sèmone was a devoted mother. She tirelessly worked to love and provide for her children. Adam and Mollie were the sun to Sèmone’s world and she will be greatly missed.

Sèmone will be remembered saying, "Everything always works out, eventually." May the strength of our memories of Sèmone carry us on as she waits to meet with us again.
