Obituary for Beth May Pierce

Beth May Pierce, 92, daughter of Orvle & Elizabeth (Tremain) Robison, was born April 20, 1926 in New York. She passed away Monday, March 25, 2019 at the Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center, Iowa.
During her teenage years, Beth worked at the ice cream shop, theater, detasseled corn, baby sat, and worked in the Bakery Shop decorating cakes. Beth graduated from Coon Rapids High School. On June 4, 1944, she married Nyal Pierce in Guthrie County, Iowa and to this union four children were born. They made their home in rural Guthrie Center until moving into town in 1978. She then moved to Panora in 2007. Beth worked as various jobs before working for Dr. Schramm’s office as a chiropractic assistant from 1972 until 1985 which she truly loved. After she had retired, she then went on on to work for CPA Lisa Calvert for 16 years and retired again at 80 only because she thought it was time. After these two long careers, she would want you to know how blessed she was to work with the very best people. In retirement Beth remained busy volunteering at Panora Nursing & Rehab, crocheting, sewing, spending lots of time with friends and family, playing the piano, leading Bible studies, and being very active in her Church.
Never a day passed that she didn’t make Jesus and sharing His love her priority. She shared His love with everyone she met and prayed for every family member and friend every night before bed. Early Monday morning she was able to stand before her Savior hearing, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” Her last days with us spent goofing around with staff, giving lots of hugs, sending out a few cards, and leading her final Bible study. She was able to go to sleep and wake up with Jesus. May we all aspire to be more like her!!
Beth was a member of the First Christian Church, where she attended both the Christian Church in Guthrie Center and Panora, depending on which town she was living in at the time. She was an active church member, singing and directing the church choir, Sunday School teacher, education director, singing for funerals, and helping with funeral luncheons. In March of 2016, she became a resident of Spurgeon Manor. Prior to that she was a resident of the New Homestead in Guthrie Center.
She is survived by her sons, Gregory (Bonnie) Pierce of Malvern, IA; and Roger (Pam) Pierce of Plattsmouth, NE; daughter, Joy Schultz of Dallas Center; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Ila Robison of Sac City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Nyal, daughter Mary Andresen, and 4 brothers.
Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the First Christian Church, Guthrie Center. Burial of her cremains will be in the Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center.
