Curtis is a highly qualified and experienced funeral director who graduated from the prestigious Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, TX in 1993. He completed his internship at McLarens Funeral Chapel in West Des Moines, IA and obtained his Funeral Director license in October of 1994.
In 1995, Curtis joined his father at Bruces Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, where he gained invaluable experience and honed his skills. then continued in following in his father's footsteps and continuing the family legacy of providing compassionate and professional funeral services to the community.
Curtis is a devoted family man and is blessed with two wonderful daughters, Mathison and Morgan. Both of his daughters have graduated from DMACC in Ankeny with Criminal Justice degrees and are currently employed at UPS in Guthrie Center. In August of 2022, Mathison tied the knot with Adam Ayers, who is also employed at UPS in Guthrie Center.
Becky, Curtis's wife, is an integral part of the family business and can often be seen working alongside her husband during visitations and funerals. She is also responsible for answering the phones and providing support to grieving families during their time of need.
With his extensive knowledge and experience in the funeral industry, Curtis is committed to providing exceptional service and support to families during their most difficult times. He takes great pride in his work and is dedicated to ensuring that every detail is taken care of with the utmost care and professionalism.
Craig is the newest member of the funeral home team, having joined his father and brother in the autumn of 2010 as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from Huron University in South Dakota, Craig decided to pursue his lifelong passion for funeral service and enrolled in the Mortuary Science Program at San Antonio College in Texas, graduating in 2005. He began his career as a funeral director at various funeral homes in Waterloo, Iowa, Dallas, Texas, and San Diego, California.
Craig's extensive experience in the funeral industry has equipped him with a wealth of knowledge and expertise. He is committed to providing compassionate and professional service to families during their time of need. His attention to detail and ability to handle difficult situations with grace and sensitivity make him an invaluable asset to the funeral home team.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Craig also enjoys spending time with his dog Gracie, and is actively involved in his community. His passion for funeral service is evident in everything he does, and he is committed to upholding the highest standards of excellence in his work.
